Josh Jenkins-Robbins
Co-Founder / Managing Principal
As Co Founder and Managing Partner at Ensure Charity, Josh is heavily involved in strategic relationships, marketing and public relations. Combining his entrepreneurial spirit, financial services background and philanthropic ideals, Josh launched Ensure Charity in late 2006 with the goal of transforming ordinary decisions that individuals and businesses make about financial planning, into creating substantial social impact.
Josh began his career in the financial services industry as a registered representative, training under a veteran technical analyst. Following years of intensive hands-on experience, Josh started his first company in 2001. He co-founded The Hartwood Group, a niche qualified plan advisory, for which he gained national exposure and later sold to a large national insurance wholesaler.
Continuing to utilize his experience in the insurance realm, Josh also co-founded a start-up institutional software company, which merged with a leading insurance conglomerate in mid 2006. Josh has co-hosted the Wall Street Financial Hour, a Southern California public radio show, and has shared his industry expertise through platforms such as Fortune Small Business Magazine, National Underwriter, California Broker and Entrepreneur Magazine’s Radio Show, among others.
Josh lives in Solana Beach with his wife Amy and spends his time working out, playing golf and staying active.
Mike Rodman
Co-Founder of Ensure Charity
Mike has been a life insurance industry leader for the past 22 years. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1983, Mike has been an agent, a general agent and a brokerage general agent during the course of his career. He earned his CFP designation in 1989.
Mike is a three time qualifier for Top of The Table, MDRT’s highest honor, as well as a four-year member of the International Forum, and the Association of Advanced Underwriters (AALU) and the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA).
Mike is also past president of NAIFA-San Diego as well as an active member of The Financial Planning Association (FPA), The Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) and The National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA).
Mike founded Advanced Planning Services, Inc. (APS) as “The Industry’s First Advanced Sales Brokerage General Agency.” Since that time APS has become “The Premier Advanced Sales and Advanced Underwriting organization” serving the entire industry, including producers, producer groups, and other agencies and carriers. APS is a two time INC 500 winner.
Mike sits on the board of multiple privately owned companies in the financial services industry including a Broker-Dealer.
Neil McAuliffe
VP of Advanced Sales - Los Angeles, Ventura County and Orange County
Neil is responsible for the development and sales process of life insurance and annuity solutions for Ensure Charity and our associated Charities.
Neil McAuliffe has been in the financial services business for over thirty years . During his successful career, he has focused on the needs of business owners, high net worth individuals and charitable organizations. The opportunity to facilitate substantial funding of non-profits by leveraging the work he loves to do is literally a dream come true.
One of Neil’s favorite quotes is from Bill Gates: "If we can find approaches that meet that needs of the poor that generate profits for businesses we will have found a sustainable way to reduce the inequity in the world."

George Alexander (ChFC, CLU)
VP of Advanced Sales San Diego County
George is an industry veteran with over 26 Years in the Life Insurance Industry and is also very heavily involved in the community. George has many distinguished credentials including Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU).
George’s community involvement includes Advisory Member to the Salvation Army Planned Giving Board, Chairman of the San Diego Rotary Tennis Committee, Board Member of Youth Tennis San Diego.
Georges past service includes work with UC San Diego, the Scipps Hospital, the San Diego Foundation, the Solana Beach Little League, the Carmel Valley Recreational Center and Voice for Children.
George, his wife and four children live in Carmel Valley and are avid tennis players. George and his Daughter Elizabeth were ranked #1 in San Diego and #24 in the Nation for Father-Daughter Doubles.
Jonathan Gerlach
VP of Small Group Benefits and Life Specialist
Jonathan A. Gerlach is head of Group Benefits at Ensure Charity with a focus on small group planning. He is also a life insurance specialist. Jonathan Gerlach has been in the Insurance Services Business for almost 20 years. His heart for philanthropy brought him to Ensure Charity to help businesses and individuals leverage ordinary decisions into giving opportunities.
In addition to his Ensure Charity duties, Jonathan is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and California Association of Health Underwriters (CAHU). He serves on the board of Ventura County Boy Scouts of America located in Camarillo, CA.
Jonathan and his wife support and volunteer their time to many charitable organizations such as Children’s Hunger Fund, Cornerstone Community Church, New Tribes Missions, World Vision, and African Renewal Ministries.
Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family and serving at his church. His hobbies include golf, tennis, basketball and many other outdoor activities.
Buddy Bunn
Chief Underwriter
Buddy is a 26 year underwriting veteran in the life insurance industry. He is a former Vice President and Chief Underwriter for ING and has been in the life insurance industry for over 25 years.
Buddy has a solid reputation with the underwriters at each carrier and works very closely with them to ensure the best obtainable offer is made on any given case.
His underwriting expertise is invaluable to our organization and the clients we work with. Buddy is a scratch golfer and enjoys traveling between San Diego and his home in Alabama.
Eric Johnson
VP of Operations and Processing
Eric Johnson joins the Ensure Charity team with an extensive background in the financial services industry and is a 2 year member of NAIFA. After graduating summa cum laude from Point Loma Nazarene University, he started his career with Advanced Planning Services. During the past 5 years, Eric assisted APS in becoming a two time INC 500 company, while specializing in wealth transfer, wealth replacement, and estate planning.
Eric’s strong background in case design and underwriting assists Ensure Charity in offering clients the best options and in the most efficient manner. He is honored to work with Ensure Charity knowing that its goal is to provide superior products and services to its clients while at the same time making an impact in the lives of others.
Kerry Ryder
Executive Administration and Case Management
Kerry Ryder is a San Diego native, and as a result of her father’s work with endangered species, was able to travel around the world at a young age. Visiting countries such as Czechoslovakia, Nevis, Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania, Spain, Germany, England, and France gave her a broad perspective through the diverse experiences. It opened her eyes to the pressing needs around the world.
After earning a degree in English and Secondary Education, Kerry became a high school English teacher, working with at-risk students for four years. She is applying her time management and organizational skills acquired as a teacher to her work at Ensure Charity. She enjoys volunteering her time to youth organizations, as well as the opportunity to work for a company that helps make a difference.
Glen Janken
Glen Janken - Advanced Sales Team - Beverly Hills
Glen Janken, CFP®, CLU – Since 1985, Glen has operated his own estate and financial planning practice. Prior to that he practiced accounting, serving as controller for a large architecture and engineering firm. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1974, Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Economics. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College in October 1990. He became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) licensee in January 2000.
Glen teaches courses on Advanced and Basic Estate Planning at UCLA Extension, where he has also been a member of the Attorney Assistant Advisory Council. He has served on the Development Sub-Committee and on the Investment Sub-Committee at Marlborough School, and is a past Co-Chair of the Marlborough Parents’ Annual Fund Campaign. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Vidisch Realty Corporation, a privately held real estate company, and has been a member of the Board of Directors of JANCO Corporation, an electronics manufacturer and ESOP Company located in southern California. He and his wife are both second-generation native Angelenos.
