Ensure Charity Selected by HomeAid® for Generating New Funds to End Homelessness
HomeAid's Los Angeles and Ventura County chapter sets a positive example for the building industry and gains new, ongoing revenue stream with Ensure's insurance services
San Diego, Calif. -February 28, 2008 - Ensure Charity, a financial services company that donates 50 percent of its gross revenues (commissions) to charities and non-profits, today announced that it has solidified an employee benefits program for the Los Angeles and Ventura County chapter of HomeAid®, a leading national non-profit provider of housing for today's homeless. To commemorate its relationship with HomeAid, Ensure Charity presented the non-profit with a check representing the first installment of donations that will continue to be generated on a monthly basis.
After performing a plan comparison of HomeAid's previous employee benefits plan against some of the nation's largest health insurance providers, Ensure Charity was able to secure a more cost-effective option for the Los Angeles and Ventura County chapter, while also generating a new, ongoing revenue stream to support efforts in fighting homelessness. Further, should HomeAid's donor base wish to enlist Ensure Charity's services, they too can direct 50 percent of the commissions generated from their transactions to support the organization's mission to "to build dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives."
"Ensure's concept of leveraging every day business decisions, like selecting an employee health insurance plan, to create new giving opportunities is inspiring," said Jennie Cowart, executive director, HomeAid for Los Angeles and Ventura County. "As one of HomeAid's twenty-two chapters, the process was straightforward and we embraced it right away – they secured a lower price, while also generating new funds to support our goals."
Ensure Charity provides financial and insurance solutions with a unique differentiator never before seen in the insurance industry. While operating under a full disclosure environment, the company donates 50 percent of its gross revenues to charities and non-profits. In many states, they allow the client (individuals and businesses) to select which non-profit they would like to see receive the donation. This allows the client to leverage an ordinary decision into a giving opportunity. The company has a highly experienced team of financial professionals and works with more than 40 of the nation's largest life insurance carriers, health insurance carriers, property/casualty carriers and annuity providers to cover a broad array of client needs.
"HomeAid has been instrumental in bringing new, critical thought leadership to the issue of homelessness," said Neil McAuliffe, VP of Advanced Sales for Ensure Charity. HomeAid has successfully instituted a compelling model that brings together all the necessary partners – builders, suppliers, city leaders, etc. – to create a housing program that gives a second chance for those in need to get back on their feet."
HomeAid was founded by leaders in the home building industry to make a difference by building high-quality housing for the temporarily homeless. As a result, HomeAid is able to multiply every dollar received two- to three-fold through the donation of building materials and the volunteer labor of professional builders. Contributors to the success of the Los Angeles and Ventura County chapter include Alliance Bank, Bank of America, Lennar Homes, Pardee Homes, John Laing Homes, Centex Homes, Watt Communities and S & S Construction, among others.
